The functioning of ISMAANA is seen on a day-to-day basis by the Executive Committee comprising of the five Executive Members and six Board Members. The Executive Committee members are elected every three years. The current Executive Committee started their three-year term in 2009.

ISMAANA EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

Chairman: Prof. Raj Ramani

Raj Ramani is a 1962 ISM Mining Engineering graduate and is currently an Emeritus Professor of Mining Engineering at Penn State. He is a certified first class mine manager and a registered professional engineer. He obtained his M.S. and Ph. D. in Mining Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University where he was Professor of Mining and Geo-environmental Engineering, Head of the Department Mineral Engineering and George H. Jr and Anne B. Deike Chair in Mining Engineering.

Vice – Chairman: Arvinder Kaur

Arvinder Kaur graduated from ISM (Pet. Engg.) in 1993 and completed her MBA from Univ. of Texas at Austin in 2003.

She has worked in the fields of consulting, strategic planning and strategic marketing. She lives in Richmond, VA.

Secretary: Ashutosh Ashish

Ashutosh Ashish graduated from ISM (Pet. Engg.) in 1994 and completed his MBA from University of Texas at Austin in 2001. He currently works for PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Advisory Services, focused on providing management consulting to energy companies. He has worked for Essar Oil Limited (1994 – 1999) and Deloitte Consulting (2001 – 2008) prior to joining PwC. He lives in Sugar Land, TX.

Vice – Secretary: Ajay Kumar (Jha)

Ajay Kumar graduated from ISM (Mining Engg.) in 1996 and completed his ME from Univ. of Utah in 2004 and then his MBA from Univ. of Virginia in 2007. He worked for Tata Steel (1996-2001) and Cortez Gold Mine (2004-2005). Currently, he is working with MWV as LDP Associate (2007-contd.) in Corp. Finance. He lives in Richmond, VA with his wife and son.

Treasurer: Manoj Choudhary

Manoj Kr. Choudhary is a Senior Reservoir Engineer with Hess Corporation. He graduated from ISM (Pet. Engg.) in 1993 and completed his MS (Pet. Engg.) from Texas A&M, College Station. He has previously worked for Chevron, USA and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, India. He lives in Pearland, Texas.

ISMAANA BOARD MEMBERS

Board Member: Jagjit Yadav

After graduation from ISM in 1965, Jagjit worked for ONGC for five months in Ankleshvar before coming to the United States in 1966 to pursue a Master of Science degree at Texas A&M University. He worked for Texaco over the next thirty-two years. Jagjit also has a MBA from University of Texas–Permian Basin and Advanced Management Program from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Jagjit is the current outgoing President of ISMAANA and will automatically be part of the ISMAANA Board.

Board Member: Dr. Mohinder S. Gulati

Mohinder Gulati graduated from Indian School of Mines in Petroleum Engineering in 1962 and worked in India for 7 years for the Oil and Natural Gas Commission before joining Stanford University in 1969 where he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for Unocal in its Geothermal and Research Divisions for 27 years before retiring in 1999. He lives in Santa Rosa CA with his wife Manjit.

Board Member: Ganesh Thakur

Ganesh Thakur is a 1970 ISM Petroleum Engineering graduate and is currently Vice President of Chevron Energy Technology Co. He is also a Chevron Fellow and Global Advisor. He obtained his M.S. and Ph. D. in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering and MA in Mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University, and his MBA from Houston Baptist University. He worked for SSI from 1973 to 1976, and BP Research from 1976 to 1977. Since 1977, he has been working for Chevron in a variety of technical and management positions. He received Outstanding Alumnus Award from the College of Earth & Mineral Sciences, Penn State, Outstanding Engineer of the Year, Orange County, CA, and Distinguished Member and Reservoir Engineer of the Year awards from SPE. He also served on the SPE Board for 3 years as the Technical Director of Reservoir.

Board Member: Hitesh Mohan

Hitesh Mohan graduated from ISM (Mining Machinery) in 1989 and completed his course work for Masters in Peroleum Engineering from University of Kansas in 1994. He has worked for Jessops (1989- 1991), Eimco Elecon (1991-1992), ICF (1994-1996), BDM International (1996-1998). He is the co-founder and vice president of INTEK Inc., a small Energy Consulting Company based in Arlington Virginia, since July 1998. He is active member of SPE. He lives in Ashburn, VA.

Board Member: Tarun Kashib

Tarun Kashib graduated from ISM (Pet. Engg.) in 1999. He joined HLS India after graduation. He came to the University of Calgary in 2000 to pursue his Masters degree in Reservoir Engineering. Since finishing his studies in 2003, he has been employed with EnCana Corporation in Calgary as a Reservoir Engineer.
